I am so sorry that I have not been posting everyday. It is just so hard when there is so much to do here. I just can't find the time to blog. So, I will try to start today. Here is a little bit about what I am doing today...

My day is going to be FUN! My friend, Sonya woke me up at 8 a.m. this morning for breakfast. After breakfast, Lyn, Sonya, and I headed out shopping for a little while. We came for lunch at the Mensa (cafeteria), and now I am waiting to go to the Dresden Swinger Museum. I tried several different German chocolates today! They are delicious!!! I am planning on smuggling some in my suitcase, hoping that they don't melt :) Our evening is free tonight and a few of us are talking about renting a bicycle and riding it to a local park. I am looking forward to doing something adventurous! Hopefully I will find it.

DRESDEN

Dresden is a beautiful city! There is so much to do here. I have now been to my 1st and 2nd operas, eaten Turkish food, ridden a street car-what feels like 1,000 times (tram) which is a major way of transportation here, learned to live without Air Conditioning, walked approximately 10,000 steps every day, tried several other German foods, learned a few German words, made some new friends, witnessed first hand the Germans win a football game during the world cup, and had McDonalds (The BEST I'VE EVER HAD)! Life is good :)

I will write more tomorrow! Its almost 1 a.m. and I need some sleep!

Well, I am off. Headed to Troy with my mom, April, and Ieisha. From there, we will take a bus to Atlanta. We fly out of ATL at 6:15 p.m. Please pray for safe travels (ESPECIALLY for the PILOT.) I will let u know when I arrive :)

Bon Voyage Party

I have the BEST friends and family!!!! Yesterday, my dad ran a few "business" errands with me, and then my buddy, Ieisha, spent the day with me! (WE ALSO ATE LUNCH WITH MY PARENTS AT CHILI'S.) We had a great time. I ran errands with her for several hours yesterday afternoon. However, we spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME at the mall. I was beginning to get extremely bored! Finally....we left that place so that we could go home and take a dip in the pool. As we pulled into the driveway, I saw my grandparents car, as well as one of my former students. I knew that a few people were coming over to swim, but as I walked through the kitchen into to the dining room a huge crowd of people YELLED----SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a surpise bon voyage party for me! Two months ago I jokingly said to a few of my students that I wanted a going away party, in case I don't make it back! They pulled it off without me knowing...surprise, surpise cause I usually find these things out!

I have a long, scarey yet exciting trip that I am will be taking in 4 days to GERMANY!!!! I am soooo EXCITED! It is going to be the most fun experience ever! Can't wait. I will definitely miss all of my wonderful family and friends, but I WILL BE BACK!!!!

Setting up the BLOG!!!

So, today I finally set up my blogspot so that all my friends and family can see where I am and what I have been doing while I am on my Trek in Germany! I am so excited about my trip and can't wait! Leaving in 12 days.....
